The People's Poet is an online multi-media community and performance piece inspired by the life and work of poet Etheridge Knight (1931-1991)

 

 

The Peoples Poet will launch this summer. Bringing together poets Frank X. Walker, Duane Betts, Randall Horton, and jazz musician Harry Pickens with the Thousand Kites team, the project will start with a reading of the new work at the Kentucky Governors school on June 23rd before launching a national website exploring the intersection of the criminal justice system and cultural resistance.
