Resource Information and Help for the Disadvantaged will host the 2nd Annual
RIHD Awareness Conference


Richmond, Virginia –
RIHD and PAFERJ will co-host the Second Annual Reducing Crime & Recidivism
Awareness Conference, Titled “Passing Fair and Smart Laws”
 Saturday,
October 11, 2008 from
2pm to 6pm at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1720 Me
chanicsville
Turnpike, Richmond, Virginia 23223.

The Conference offers a
forum for professional exchange of knowledge and interaction aim to foster
collaboration between Criminal Justice System, our State Legislative Branch,
guest speakers and concerned citizens. The event goal aims to keep communities
safer through new and innovative approaches, reducing crime and recidivism.  Incarceration should not merely punish,
but foster rehabilitation through education and “earned” second chance re-entry
programs.

The conference will
include a silent auction prisoner art show and conclude in a gospel music
concert with lunch available.

Conference is
free however, pre-registration/rsvp required by October 4th,
2008.
